First Day of School 2012

Avery: 2nd Grade
 Carston: 4th Grade
 Kate: Age 3
 Macy: Age 5
 Macy: Kindergarten
 Kate: Playgroup :)
Macy and her cousin Drake: 1st day of Kindergarten
As school started again, my kids and I have been filled with gratitude that we have the school set up we do.  We love homeschooling.  My kids thank me almost every single day for doing homeschool with them.  We love the time it allows us to spend together, we love the way that it draws us closer together, and we love the academic freedom.  Sacrifices are made in order for it to work, but they are definitely worth it for our family.  We also love that they don't miss out on the social aspects of the public school system.  They are doing great, have friends, and feel comfortable.  I was worried when Carston and Avery went for the entire day on the first day of school.  I wondered if they would come home and say they didn't want to homeschool, but just go to the elementary.  My fears were unfounded.  When I picked them up and asked how it went, Avery said, "Good.....,but we don't have to go ALL day EVERY day, right?"  We are all so grateful we can do what we do.  We feel like we have the best of both worlds.

Summer Pictures Stolen from Heather

We did so many fun things this summer while Heather, Chelsey, and their kids were here.  Since I was pregnant and puking though, I rarely pulled out my camera.  Thankfully, Heather did!
We did the river walk at BYU, and floated some ducks down.
John found a turtle!  I love that man.
We got together with cousins we rarely see.
Another picture of the firework extravaganza
A few more from the Princess Party

You can only imagine how much these girls wished they lived in the same state.

We checked out the beach and pond in Pleasant Grove.
Grandma let the girls bring disaster to the kitchen making cookies.
I love these girls! I couldn't ask for better friends.
A few more from the Heber Rodeo
The original Olsen family, with the addition of Roscoe the dog
Celebrating Grandpa Dick's birthday with a graveside balloon release
Picnic and popsicles at the park
"Kid History! I'm your biggest fan!"

Riverwood splash pad, it was fun until Macy stepped on a bee
Which one likes the movie more?
